Start to a long weekend

Friday night is party night for many young adults throughout the New York City area, and of course, my night was spent working as photographer at one of Envision Nightlife NYC's parties. Last night, we threw it down at Studio 19, opening both floors, complete with 2 full bars and 2 DJs manning the decks. To be honest though, the DJ we had spinning up top wasn't the greatest. There were party-goers who left early simply because "the music sucks".
Anyway, I'm gonna continue editing the images, batch watermark them and report back soon, hopefully post a few samples of last night's work.

And the skies clear...

I'm currently working my way towards a half marathon (13.1 miles for the uninitiated) a week from now, the NYRR Queens Grand Prix. As such, I've been working my way up in mileage, because I haven't had much in the way of big mileage, begin stuck doing 3-5 mile runs daily with my training partner. Bumping up the mileage into the double-digits has taken a toll on my knees though. Earlier, a 10-miler turned into a 5-miler because my knees just weren't up to the task. I don't feel the knees as much when the run really gets me into my stride and the pace quickens, but I can't taper down in mileage and get faster just yet. I have 2-3 days before I can let that happen. Oh the dilemma!

The Kanye Outrage

To those uninitiated about the Kanye West incident tonight at the MTV VMAs, Taylor Swift won the moon man for best female video. When Ms. Swift went onstage for her speech, Kanye interrupted her halfway through, stole her mic and proceeded to proclaim that Beyonce had one of the best videos ever. Now, yes this is very controversial and outrageous, but the reason question I think is: was this staged?
The MTV camera had been panning on Taylor Swift when suddenly the camera was cut to a scene where Kanye had miraculously appeared onstage literally a split second after. Following the entire Bruno incident at another MTV awards show where comedian Sacha Baron Cohen teabagged rapper Eminem, I think that it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that this entire incident was staged.

Question of the day

I like to toy around with diction and analyze the way how the language we use can be manipulated in so many ways. On a long walk back to my dorm yesterday, I came up with this question/comparison:

What's worse? to be...
a penis attached to a brain
OR
a brain attached to a penis

Which one is the dominant force and why? Personally I lean towards the "penis attached to a brain" as being the worse of the two, because to me, the penis here is the dominant force but who knows? What's your take?
